15 Best Emo & Post-Hardcore Albums of 2004

By 2004, the emo boom was really boomin’. Emo was just the pop music of its time at this point (one form of it, at least), and bands in the Victory/Vagrant/Drive-Thru mold were popping up left and right. It’s the year things started to get a little too oversaturated, so it makes sense why a lot of the great bands in this world wanted to break from that mold in the years that followed–some were already doing that in 2004. A lot of mainstream emo started to look and sound the same around this time, but there was (obviously) a lot more going on within the genre than what was being shown on MTV.
