The Clash’s fourth album, the massive triple LP Sandinista!, is 40 years old today. A few weeks back we celebrated The Clash’s most controversial LP, Cut the Crap, turning 35. In terms of controversy, Sandinista! isn’t far behind. The album saw The Clash incorporating elements of funk, reggae, jazz, gospel, folk, R&B, disco and even rap. While Sandinista! was forward thinking and predicted several 80’s trends, it largely abandoned the band’s punk roots and fans. Listen to all 36 tracks of the behemoth below.
