Sum 41 have released a reimagined version of their ballad, “Catching Fire”, featuring nothing,nowhere. The track was written for Ari Whibley, frontman Deryck’s wife, after her suicide attempt, and to raise mental health and suicide prevention awareness. The track was released during Mental Health Awareness Month, but it’s important the conversations don’t stop there. Fans from all over the world submitted their stories of loss, which were combined to create the single’s video, by John Asher, who previously directed Sum 41’s music video for “Never There.” The vision behind the powerful video-turned-memorial is to shine a light on suicide prevention and help tackle the stigma behind mental health head-on.
