Green Day Are Donating Royalties From Oh Yeah! To Sexual Assault Charities

Following the release of Green Day’s new single Oh Yeah! yesterday, the band have revealed that royalties made from the track will go to two charities, International Justice Mission and RAINN. The reason for this move is because the song samples a Joan Jett track that was originally written by English glam-rock singer Gary Glitter, a convicted paedophile who sexually abused three young girls between 1975 and 1980, and was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for his crimes.
