Album Review: Jinjer – “Wallflowers”

Jinjer will be releasing their new album “Wallflowers” on August 27 and it is perhaps their most aggressive record to date. “Call Me A Symbol” opens the effort with a skull crushing display of progressive metal that hooks you right from the start. The intensity of the track offers a preview of what’s to come, before the earth-shattering “Colossus” takes you on another wild ride. Just when you think it can’t get any better, the mesmerizing “Vortex” breaks in to further expand the band’s progressive sound with groove oriented elements that culminate in a brutal breakdown. It helps bring a little diversity into the first part of the album as things continue to evolve with “Disclosure!,” a catchy as hell track that pumps you up ...
