In these financially restrained times, you have to be a bit crazy to move from a guaranteed sold-out venue in Leeds to a six thousand plus capacity arena in another city. But, that’s what the organisers of the much-loved Damnation Festival did but did they pull it off? The answer is a resounding yes! Despite initial grumblings from fans about the shift to Manchester, by the time headliner hardcore legends Converge laid waste to the crowd, Jacob Bannon and Co ended a game-changing day not just for the Damnation Team (read our recent interview with Festival Director Gavin McInally here) but for extreme music as a whole.
