Album Review: Extinguish – Self-titled

I love doing gimmicks in my reviews—finding some weird or random framing device or metaphor to help connect what makes a band’s latest release worthwhile. Literally nothing about the debut EP from Extinguish is anything other than straightforward, so here’s why you need this record in your life: no band has done 90s metallic hardcore this well since, well, the 90s. Yes, I think part of that hyperbole could be tied to the fact that this six-song EP is as effective and efficient as humanly possible—these 15ish minutes fly by.
