New England’s War Criminal rolled out their latest EP God Failed Me a few days ago and it’s a pretty solid revival of ’90s metallic hardcore along the lines of All Out War or Chokehold. I know a lot of people want to talk about Converge whenever metalcore or metallic hardcore comes up, but there are no pretensions towards post-rock and noise rock on War Criminal’s new EP. You do get some skronky death metal chords, but that just adds the knuckle dusting furry of it all.
