Weatherday details new album ‘Hornet Disaster,’ shares 2 new songs

Last year, Swedish musician Weatherday (the one-person band whose leader goes only by the name Sputnik) announced that their sophomore album Hornet Disaster would come out in March of 2025 via Topshelf, six years removed from their beloved 2019 debut album Come In (and also following a collab EP with Seoul artist Asian Glow and a four-way split with US emo bands Oolong, Michael Cera Palin, and Camp Trash). Today, Weatherday shared lead singles “Angel” and “Heartbeats” and revealed more details on the LP. “Angel,” which also has a music video, fits in especially well with Weatherday’s US emo friends, from the mathy guitar licks to the yelpy singing that sometimes reminds me of Bren Lukens from Modern Baseball, and it’s a total singalong anthem...
