Atlanta-based outfit Small Reactions have released their new single, “Park Place”: a radioactive blast of “nerve pop” that reflects Deerhunter, The Strokes, and Cage The Elephant. The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, New Age Soul, due out on SofaBurn Records. New Noise are proud to premiere the video for “Park Place” below: Small Reactions play situational pop songs. Relying on the minimal instrumentation of guitar, bass, vintage organs, and drums, the outfit is equal parts post-punk, new wave, and surf. The band themselves prefer the term “nerve pop” to describe their music. The phrase comprises the frenetic energy of the late ‘70s new wavers and Bob Dylan’s shaky foot circa 1965.
