Between new bands popping up left and right and many raging live shows, the Bay Area metal scene has been on fire of late. So it came as no surprise that when Judas Priest hit Oakland’s historic Fox Theater on their “50 Heavy Metal Years” tour, the place was sold out … and it wasn’t one of those “sold out on paper” shows where there’s plenty of room to mingle and move. Nay, this was one of those “sold out and them some” shows where every inch of space with a stage view was occupied by a rabid fan and even the lobby and merch stand were vacant while Priest was on stage.
