Phoxjaw aren’t your average band. Formed in Bristol in 2016 by vocalist/bassist Danny Garland and guitarist Josh Gallop, the music they make spans the whole gamut of rock, the four-piece – completed by guitarist Alexander Share and drummer Kieran Gallop – having released everything from indie-rock earworms to desolate, black metal-esque ragers. Likewise, when it comes to the music’s lyrics and themes, eclecticism is key. Debut EP Goodbye Dinosaur was inspired in part by Danny’s childhood love of all things prehistoric, whilst their superb follow-up, A Playground For Sad Adults, covered self-described “football anthems”, depression, heartache and more.
