UK songwriter Lande Hekt has released her new single, “December” – along with a transformative video – taken from her debut solo album, Going To Hell, out now on Get Better Records. The video channels The Sundays vibes, and was shot in Hekt’s bedroom, almost entirely as a single cut. She hacks off her hair, holding back tears and desperately trying to concentrate on the lyrics. She says about the video: “My hands were shaking as I chopped my hair shorter than I’ve had it since I was four-years-old, whilst trying to remember the words to the song and not cry.” Those words are raw and personal, yet relatable, centered around the guttural fear present when crushing on someone, and not knowing whether to act on it.
