Jason Lyles, Chattanooga, TN-based indie rock artist, released his newest album, Tandem, this past Friday—and it’s a beautifully diverse collection of songs covering a range of emotions and sonic feels. The album came together in what Lyles describes as a “journey through the cosmos”—and it’s a fitting description. Each track brings a new flavor, whether it’s the soft, acoustic-leaning feel of “Wildflowers” (which is a Tom Petty cover he chose to include in tribute to his wife) or the distortion-driven feel of “Every Little Second.” To put it simply, the album showcases range. And it does so gracefully and cohesively.
