According to Amy Lee, Evanescence are going to hit the studio in early 2020 to work on at least some of their new album. Material from the follow-up to 2017’s Synthesis album will hopefully be able to be heard by fans “pretty soon”, according to the singer, who told Summa Inferno backstage at Mexico City’s Knotfest Meets Forcefest (which unfortunately saw both Evanescence and Slipknot have to cancel their sets) that the band have been working on new music – and things have been going well. “[We’re] working on our new album – yay! – for the first time in a long time,” Amy enthused. “We’ve been just getting together for a little – we call it band camp – little writing camps for a few days and we just work on new music.
