I’ve never found “best of” collections to be all that useful or interesting when I’m a fan of a band – I already know my favorites, and it sucks when a band’s opinion of their best is shown to be different than my infallible tastes (sarcasm). I’m often more likely to throw on a favorite album than a career retrospective, since my enjoyment of music is so tied to time and place.
