Firmament has dropped their sophomore LP, A New World If You Can Take It. The album fuses modern metalcore, alternative rock, and progressive post-hardcore with themes of philosophy, mysticism, and personal loss. The alt-rock-tinged single “Beneddictional,” featuring Alex Hunter of Present can be found on the album. Commenting on the song, Firmament states: “‘Beneddictional’ is a portmanteau of ‘Benediction’ (the prayer said towards the end of a religious service that bestows a blessing) and ‘Addiction.’ The song is about the difficulty of wishing a lover well as you part ways while recognizing that the relationship was not good for you.
