CLEAVER strikes with full force, grasps our innards in the face of a violent, aggressive, and obscure world

As Russia invades Ukraine, “Sunset” by French chaotic hardcore band CLEAVER is a harsh commentary to the modern world. A whirlwind of aggressiveness, without any artifice or frills, mixed with a colossal intensity and a chaotic madness. Inspired by American hardcore punk like Converge, Botch and Poison the Well, CLEAVER merge violent, heavy riffs, pounding drums and grinding vocals to craft a sound that is equally dark, oppressive, and intense. Founded in Commercy, Meuse, France in late 2018, the band is comprised of brothers Mathis Garelli on guitar/vocals and Léo-Paul Garelli on drums along with Franck Fortina on bass/vocals.
