The long running ska punk band The Mighty Mighty BossToneS have announced that they are breaking up just shy of their fortieth anniversary. The band formed in 1983 and retained four original members, Dicky Barrett, Joe Gittleman, Tim “Johnny Vegas” Burton and Ben Carr, who appeared on all eleven of their studio albums. No reason has been released for the band’s unexpected announcement, the band’s sudden demise has come as a surprise as they were expected to play LA’s Greek Theatre and the UK’s Slam Dunk Festival this Summer.
