Goth-grunge, NYC-based band Heavy Halo are giving listeners a taste of their upcoming, self-titled debut, coming November 5, with the new song and music video “Black Seed.” According to the band, Heavy Halo are conflict, darkness versus light, noise versus melody, machine versus skin and bone, and “wide-eye idealism dragged down to the dirt by harsh reality.” They embrace jagged guitars and raw electronics over intense 808s, but at their core, Heavy Halo are melody junkies, their music abundant with shameless hooks and McKeever’s fully unfiltered vocals.
