The Deaf Institute for those who’ve never been is the most atmospheric of venues on nights like this, evoking an immediate sense of Victorian Manchester with its beautiful architecture, deep red curtains, and fascinating wallpapers. Will told us before the gig that he had been moved from the main stage to the smaller Music Hall downstairs as only a small crowd was anticipated, but the room filled pretty quickly, and the cosiness of the closer room added to the intimacy of the night.
