This week’s Metallica Mondays is one of the band’s most breathtaking streams yet, filmed at the at Etihad Stadium in Manchester last summer (yes, really) on the band’s huge WorldWired tour… only on this night in particular, it was absolutely pissing it down. “It was a kickass show,” enthuses bassist Rob Trujillo in the introduction to the video. “My memories of it are pretty clear: it was an infamous rainy gig, just pounding rain (laughs). Great for the photo op, and memorable – just very powerful to be playing out there. Sometimes those conditions bring this insane energy, and the backdrop is pretty spectacular.
