London-based, alternative rock duo Attendant are making big, noisy music heavily drawing on punk and post-hardcore influences, a project like many born from the COVID-19 lockdown. Songwriter/guitarist Andy Walker and drummer Chris Rouse have written together in various guises for much longer, but they are forging ahead as Attendant, releasing their new single “Doomscroller” and a music video to go with. Walker spoke about the new, aptly named single: “When we’re bored, we pick up our phones and start scrolling. We all do it—but for some people, that habit can turn into something more sinister. There are folks who get addicted to the outrage they feel when viewing hateful content, and it eats away at their empathy, so they end up hating everyone and everything.”...
