Two of the European rock underground’s most interesting bands are coming together for an old-fashioned split album now available via Rapid Eye Records on September 14th, each contributing three songs. On this self-titled EP, the bands are presenting two sides of the same coin. OKKULTOKRATI delivers huge, fist-pumping, goth-tinged arena metal, conjuring the spirit of JUDAS PRIEST and THE SISTERS OF MERCY, while still being dipped in the same unmistakably Norwegian “black” sound as is their signum. As heavy as it is, there is always a kraut-y, hypnotic element present. MAGGOT HEART on the other hand, are stripped down and raw, serving what is their punkiest material to date, while still keeping the hook-y choruses and noise rock riffs flowing.
