Philadelphia-based trio Stinking Lizaveta closed off the West Coast leg of their US tour with Telekinetic Yeti with an electrifying set at The Knitting Factory, NoHo last Friday. While often described as playing “doom rock,” it could be argued that the music that they play is something else altogether, something that can’t easily be lumped into any one category. Their unique blend of metal and jazz–fusing heavy upright bass, explosive drums, and precise guitar–provide for an entertaining set.
