Seattle punk legends The Gits and their late, iconic singer Mia Zapata–who was murdered in 1993 at age 27–are subject of a new book by Gits drummer Steve Moriarty (who is now a psychotherapist), Mia Zapata & The Gits: A Story of Art, Rock, and Revolution, coming August 13 via Feral House. The book’s been called “Just Kids for the grunge era,” and it includes never-before-seen paintings, letters, and pictures.
