Through her hard work and perseverance, Sahara von Hattenberger has earned her right to be where she is. The professional cellist is just about to release her debut record, 1Q84, via Odd Sound Musique on October 18th. A Vancouver native and a member of the Chamber Orchestra of New York, Sahara collaborated closely on the record with pianist Joanne Kang. Other major contributors include jazz drummer Jim Doxas and jazz bassist Adrian Vedady. 1Q84 will also feature repertoire by Claude Bolling and two new commissions by Grammy-winning composer Remy Le Boeuf and Malcolm Sailor.
