Queen Kwong has released her new video, a cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s State Trooper, that retains the moody intensity of the original, transforming The Boss‘ tale of a car thief’s evasion from the police into a narrative about women’s rejection of patriarchal thinking. The track is taken from Queen Kwong‘s new four-track EP, Strangers, which contains unconventional re-imaginings of The Rolling Stones‘ Sympathy for the Devil, Chris Isaak‘s Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing and the Velvet Underground‘s I Found A Reason.
