Surfbort have released a delightfully scrappy punk rendition of “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.” Surfbort’s take, complete with a PG-13 animation by Glendon & Isabella, sounds more like The Dead Milkmen or Violent Femmes than the countrified Elmo & Patsy classic. “I think Christmas holidays are a sham and can be lonely and messed up, but we love our grandma and love seeing family on the holidays,” says singer Dani Miller. “Because last year’s holiday season was dark, we wanted to cover a song that had humor and played off a twisted holiday season.
