California shoegaze group Cold Gawd have signed to Dais Records. New single “Moving to California in March,” the band’s latest, showcases Cold Gawd’s blend of fuzz-drenched shoegaze and emo-tinged post-hardcore. “‘Moving…’ is a song about the anxious feeling that is making—what you think is—the biggest next step of your life. ‘Stay in Chicago?’ ‘Go home?’ You’ll always ask yourself, ‘Was that the right move?’ But every day, remember why you left,” the band says of the new track. With this and the group’s previous material, “Moving to California in March” the vibe puts the group in a realm similar to Whirr, Nothing, or Title Fight’s Hyperview.
