Black metal has seen the pandemic and laughed at it. Fuath return with their second record, the aptly titled II, set to be released March 19 via Season of Mist Underground Activists. Fuath, if you recall, is Andy Marshall of Saor fame handling all instruments and lyrical duties, except for drums, which were performed by Carlos Vivas. II channels that classic Scandinavian black metal sound reminiscent of bands such as Burzum, Darkthrone, Drudkh, and Windir. Rumor has it that Marshall gained inspiration for this album by walking through forests in his native Scotland during the dead of winter, trudging through frost and snow, to spiritually gain insight for the often harsh and bleak lyrical tone of II.
