Japanese genre-benders toe have released a new live album, DOKU-EN-KAI, with both audio and video run-throughs available for download now, via Topshelf Records. Twenty-six years into their career, toe bring fans another live release, in a similar vein to previous releases RGBDVD and CUT_DVD. This album comes at the perfect time to fill the gaping live-music hole inside us all, as well as prepare us for the pit once again. Art by Yamazaki Hirokazu. DOKU-EN-KAI was shot ‘in the round’ at le Poisson Rouge in NYC in 2019, and directed by Josh Coll. With an impressive runtime of 85 minutes, it’s a kinetic and energetic insight into what a toe show is like.
