Discovering rock ’n roll through records and magazines as a young man and going on to idolize its reigning queen is the subject of the latest video release from Texas punk rock veterans Monster Soup. Directed by music video auteur Dwayne Cathey and starring Cicada Tate as Joan Jett, the Ramones inspired, high energy charge of My Black Heart takes you through the journey of growing up with rock music the way we used to, before the internet changed everything. The video’s release on BlankTV follows the release of the single to major streaming platforms earlier this month. My Black Heart is Monster Soup‘s first offering since 2012’s Damn I’m Good album, but is only the first of many scheduled for 2023.
