Los Angeles-based indie-pop/bedroom pop artist Grace Kay unveils her new single, “Actress,” a pop anthem about reclaiming personal power. Kay explains, “The theme of ‘Actress’ is how I molded and transformed myself into someone I didn’t recognize; someone that would fit perfectly into ‘this guy’s’ life.” After attending an all-girls high school, Kay studied at the University of Southern California, where she took a degree in acting. Her sound amalgamates synth-pop production, complex rhythms, and upmarket vocals. It’s a sound suggestive of MUNA, The Japanese House, Imogen Heap, and Caroline Polachek.
