Quebec technical deathcore crew Despised Icon is one of those bands that the underground extreme metal scene took to their hearts during the early years of the 2000s. Having disbanded in 2010, there was much excitement when they reformed to release their crushing Beast album in 2016, followed by the equally savage Purgatory three years later.
