Let’s not pretend that end-of-year album lists are significant or relevant. They are completely subjective, almost without utility beyond giving us the opportunity to celebrate some amazing records that came out over the last year. It should be noted that this list comes from the perspective of a jaded writer and musician, one whose taste has simplified during this tumultuous year to what is both satisfying and artful concurrently.
