Album Review: Wormwitch- Wolf Hex

Canadian black metal quartet Wormwitch have returned with their third full-length record, called Wolf Hex. It begins with a ritualistic preface, an atmospheric intro that shortly gives in to the feedback and blast beats of “Canadian Denim Mountain Attack.” Guitar solos, chanting vocals, and a brooding breakdown rip through the four-minute track, letting the listener know that it is going to be a wild ride over the next eight cuts. It is confirmed with the third song, “The Wolves of Ossory.” Fingerpicked acoustic guitars transition beautifully into the electric onslaught when the band comes in.
