Winged Wheel just might be the ultimate quarantine-era band. Formed by four established musicians who had only crossed paths at D.I.Y. gigs while performing their own respective acts over the years, the group came about quite by accident and evolved into an epic, fully remote meeting of the minds. It all started when guitarist and bassist Cory Plump (of Spray Paint, Rider/Horse, and Expensive Shit fame) asked drummer Fred Thomas (of Tyvek and Idle Ray) to send him a few home-recorded drum loops that he could play guitar to. The drum tracks Thomas sent ended up being extremely inspiring, and Plump soon found himself laying down both guitar and bass tracks over the loops.
