Of all of the 1980s alt bands you expected to still be relevant and churning out some of their best music decades later, Wisconsin’s Violent Femmes would likely be one of the long shots. They were/are a fantastic trio turning out left of center quirky brilliant anthems for all of the kids who didn’t fit in. But an acoustic folk punk band led by a warbled-voiced front man doesn’t exactly scream career longevity.
