On NYC-trad metal-power trio Sanhedrin’s, third album (and first for Metal Blade), Lights On, they do what they’ve always done: play rip roaring heavy metal, bolstered by the strong and soaring vocals of bassist Erica Stoltz. Though, what separates Sanhedrin from a lot of their contemporaries is their ability to tackle the problems of the world, head on, in their lyrics. While, many of their peers are content with singing lyrics about the “power and glory of metal,” Sanhedrin is not afraid to let their feelings known, on a variety of timely topics.
