Rid of Me are a band from Philly that plays a heavy brand of rock full of both melodies and noise. They have a laid back intensity that is able to sound relaxed and intense at the same time. They hit hard in all facets of songwriting; filling the songs with an onslaught of heavy. Their strength is in their ability to build tension throughout each song. Rid of Me are a mix of a 90s era college rock band combined with rock and roll. There is a grungy feel to the songs. They would have made for a good opening act for a lot of the bands of that era. Travelling is similar to a lot of the bands that Sub Pop released, updated for modern day. The music is raw and well played. The musicianship is tight and creative.
