Album Review: Noah Deemer – The Sleepwalker

New York artist Noah Deemer has spent much of his career working as part of a collective on projects including Gross Ghost, No One Mind, and The Toddlers, but he has now released his long-awaited debut solo album: The Sleepwalker. The album—originally scheduled for release last summer—was written over the course of 2018 and 2019 at his home in New York City and recorded exclusively at night in a moonshine cabin in North Carolina. During this time, Deemer also dabbled in hypnosis, which certainly influenced the music. The Sleepwalker is aptly named, as the soundscapes it creates invoke the feeling of hearing distant music from deep within a dream, or perhaps while underwater.
