My Idea came about when songwriter Lily Konigsberg originally reached out to Nate Amos—a longtime friend in the Brooklyn, New York music scene—to produce her solo work. But over the summer of 2020, the duo ended up writing tons of songs with each other in a friendly competition. By the end of it all, they decided to just make it honest and start a new band together. Both artists are already accomplished acts in their own right, and this musical maturity is evident in the sounds they now create with one another. Konigsberg is a member of the experimental lo-fi noise act Palberta as well a solo artist, while Amos is known for his work with the indie dance pop outfit Water From Your Eyes, as well as his own solo material, released under the moniker This Is Lorelai.
