Album Review: If It Kills You – Invisible Self

If It Kills You play churning, shimmering, post-hardcore that doesn’t skimp on hooks or passion. On their third album, Invisible Self (which was produced by ex-At The Drive In and Sparta member Jim Ward), they deliver a masterclass on how to create emotional and powerful post- hardcore. You may hear hints of bands such as Quicksand, Hum and Drive Like Jehu (whose song “If It Kills You” gave them their name), but they put enough of their own spin on these classic sounds, making them their own, and offering a fresh slab of post-hardcore.
