Twenty-twenty-one had very few positives (you can say that again), but at least last year served as an excellent reminder of why EPs can and do rule when deployed correctly. The Devil Wears Prada, Knocked Loose, Structures, and Like Moths To Flames all released some of the best music of their careers via the aforementioned short-form route, and that’s just highlighting one genre of music. Boston’s Great American Ghost—who also execute within the broader metalcore realm—have added to the early list of best EPs of 2022 with their most ferocious batch of music to date.
