Former American Idol contestants Ajii and Wé Ani join forces on their new single, “Forget About You,” a song written by Ajii, Wé Ani, and Alex Poeppel, who also produced the track. Talking about the song, Ajii says, “‘Forget About You’ is a deeply personal song for me, one that captures the battle between chasing my dreams and letting go of someone who once meant everything.” While Wé Ani adds, “The day after a breakup is truly the worst because you’re just waiting to not feel or remember anything about the relationship. The juxtaposition between the sad reality of a breakup and the upbeat rhythm really catches you, so we ran with it.” Now signed to BMG Nashville/19 Recordings, Ajii appeared on Season 22 of American Idol.
