BlackWristBand, the solo project of John McGeown, have released their debut single & video, I Don’t Care, that is taken from the upcoming album, My Escape, that is due out on the 11th April. BlackWristBand will also be playing a record release show at Chicago’s Gman Tavern on the 10th April. The ten tracks on My Escape offer an angsty flurry of feelings that draw as much from music acts like Apocalypse Hoboken, Oblivion, Dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks, The Misfits and Black Flag as they do verbose writers like William S. Burroughs, Hubert Selby Jr. and Hunter S. Thompson.
