Red Sun‘s best buds is one of this year’s most promising breakthrough Midwest emo EPs, and now the Oklahoma City band is keeping the momentum going by signing to Wax Bodega (Hot Mulligan, Home Is Where, Carly Cosgrove, etc) and announcing a split EP with South Florida emo band Bonus, Unnecessary Riffness. It comes out December 6, and Red Sun’s first single “Boomer” is out now. It’s a great one, and it already feels like a noticeable progression from the EP. The production is sharper, it’s got one of their biggest and catchiest hooks yet, and it’s a great introduction to this band if you haven’t heard them yet.
