Coalesce played their first NYC shows in 14 years with Cave In (pics)

Kansas City mathcore vets Coalesce are back for the first time in 12 years and they’ve been playing a very select few shows. Having made their return with a hometown-area show at The Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS in September, they played Furnace Fest earlier this month and then made their way to the Northeast over the weekend for two shows at The Meadows in Brooklyn and one at The First Unitarian Church in Philly. They were co-headlining shows with Boston lifers Cave In, with support from Eye Flys at the first Brooklyn show (10/18), Majority Rule offshoot NØ MAN at the second, and Rid of Me in Philly. They’ve got fellow Midwesterner Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike, The Casket Lottery, etc) on drums for these shows, and they loaded their sets with classics and really made these...
