Longtime Madball bassist Hoya Roc left the band this past summer after 30 years, and now he’s focusing his attention on a new band, SMOKE AxD. Hoya wrote the music and lyrics, and then he recruited the lineup of vocalist Lord Ezec aka Danny Diablo (of Crown of Thornz, Skarhead, etc), guitarist Sean Martin (Hatebreed, Twitching Tongues, and drummer Dimi Douvas (Crown of Thornz, Stillsuit) to help bring them to life. The band hit the studio with producer Zeuss (who’s also worked with Madball and Hatebreed), and the plan is to release a five-song EP in spring 2024.
